Anne M. Lacy, 79, of Kingston, passed away Monday, August 3rd, 2026 at Third Avenue Health and Rehab, Kingston.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Anne was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Mulhern. She grew up in Dallas, and graduated from Dallas High School. She earned a degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University. She went on to a teaching career at Wyoming Valley West School District, where she taught third grade at Chester Street Elementary in Kingston for many years, until her retirement in 1999. She was a patient, caring, and encouraging teacher who took pride in helping her students learn and succeed.

Following retirement, in addition to caring for her son, Alex, who was disabled in a car accident in 1998, she and her husband, Roger, enjoyed traveling together throughout Europe, Canada and the United States. She was a loving and devoted mother and partner to her husband Roger. An avid reader, she also enjoyed tennis, bridge, skiing, and socializing with many friends. Above all, Anne’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth and steady presence created lasting bonds.

In 2011 she suffered a debilitating stroke due to a brain aneurysm, and the last 15 years of her life were often very challenging. Through it all, she maintained her spirit and sense of humor, and love for family. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her brother, John Mulhern.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Roger Lacy; son Ethan Lacy and wife Kay Negishi and granddaughters Aki and Tomo, Boston, MA; son Alexander, (aka by Anne as Bear), Kingston; sister, Elizabeth Smith, Forty Fort; brother, James Mulhern, Nanticoke.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of family.
