Karol Irene Joswick, 83, of Harveys Lake, formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 27th, 2026 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Andreas and Cecelia Alver.

Karol dedicated 36 years to public service as a member of Community Board 12 in Borough Park, Brooklyn NY. She was a vital member of the community and helped countless residents.

In addition to her parents, Karol was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Chester J. Joswick.

Surviving are her children Lisa Rossi, Scott Joswick and spouse Lisa Joswick, Christopher Joswick and spouse Stacey Joswick, her sister Linda Martin, her grandchildren Julianne and spouse Paul, Allison and spouse Jay, PJ, Ryan and spouse Tara, Michael, Emily, Matthew, Jack and Sam, as well as her great grandchildren Teddy, Wesley, Faye, Natalia, Ariana and Luca.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 1st at 2pm at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, Inc. , 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Rev. Richard Bradshaw will serve as officiant. Friends and family may call from 1pm until time of service.
