Kenneth “Ken” Chamberlain, 69, of Shavertown, passed away on July 24, 2026 following a short illness, surrounded by his loved ones.

Ken was born on August 21, 1956, in Dallas, to Donald Chamberlain Sr. and E. Mae Evans Chamberlain. A graduate of the Dallas High School Class of 1974, he went on to spend his working life as a skilled machinist.

He was an avid golfer, loved vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland with his family, and was a devoted Penn State football fan. He was a car enthusiast from the time he earned his driver’s license, and his pride was his prize-winning custom, self-built, 1979 Jeep CJ-7. An animal lover, Ken was always sharing the couch with his cats, Buddy, Buster, and Walter. But more than any pastime, it was his larger-than-life personality and distinctive, unforgettable laugh — the things his family will hold close and miss most of all.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Cindy Simms Chamberlain; his daughter, Christine Binkley (Michael); his sons, Dennis Pick (Elizabeth) and Steven Pick; and his cherished grandsons, Alex and Miles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carolyn Lauer Chamberlain; his brother, Donald Chamberlain Jr.; and his son, Kenneth Chamberlain Jr.

Friends and family are warmly invited to celebrate Ken’s life at a visitation from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, Inc., 140 N. Main Street, Shavertown, PA. A Memorial Service will begin toward the end of the visitation. Burial services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Ken’s love of animals, donations may be made in his memory to the SPCA of Luzerne County.
