Sharon E. Miers, 79, of Dallas, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Titus and Elizabeth (Parrish) Covert.

A graduate of Dallas High School, she received a bachelor's degree from Misericordia College and a master’s degree from Marywood University. She worked as a nursing home administrator until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Miers in 2025 and her step-father, Walter C. Covert in 1992.

Carl was her high school sweetheart and they shared 57 years of marriage.

Surviving are: daughters, Susan (Brian) Smith, Berks County, and Amy (Bruce) Thomas, Emily Owens and Debra (Chris) Traver; grandchildren Ethan, Jacob and Carleigh Thomas, Kayla and Tyler Owens all of Dallas; step-grandchildren Laurel Cavanaugh and Chris Traver, sister-in-law Jane Miers, three nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 1:30 pm at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Rev. Dr. William Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow at Wardan Cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
